Here's what over three weeks of not shaving and covering a hurricane does to you. No, not really. This was just a light moment last night at one of the few bars in the neighborhood that still exists. We also both got haircuts today for free from the company. While my more reserved cohort may not admit it, we're both weary. Our hope is that Rita doesn't make this harder than it already is. The latest info still presents the possibility, albeit small, of sending it right over our heads. I'm still planning on getting on that plane to Vermont for the weekend though.
Many thanks to the many well-wishers out there. It truly has made keeping this blog going worthwhile. Hopefully you all won't hear from me for a few days. I leave this endeavor in the somewhat capable hands of my friend with the big chin.

Hello again guys,

No matter how many times I say it, it's never enough to express the gratitude I have for your continuing coverage of this horrific happening, Thank you! And Josh, enjoy the wedding in Vermont and hopefully Rita will just run out of steam and just die shortly after it hits land and hopefully this time this one will be a "dud." Bye for now.

I stumbled on his blog and have been reading it all. You have something very good here. Eventhough you are in the thick of the worst you can still write some positive things about where you are and what you are doing. Go with God gentlemen and yes get some rest it is well deserved.

Please forgive my seemingly unfeeling heart when I say this, but I have not felt the rip of emotion that tugs my heart when I look at the devastation of Katrina, with the devastation of the Twin Towers. In my warped sense, I have been touched more rudely, and with more empathy, for the people who are suffering this natural disaster than I ever felt for those who lost their lives, and lost loved ones, on Sept.11th. I have cried more for those who are living through this aftermath, than I did for those who have died, in a ruthless act of man.

Your posts bring such an element of raw humanity and truth of the destruction than any mass media could convey. You touch the personal side of this event.

Thank you.

Hi,
you now, we watch on tv what you live, suffer, and endure... but I guess it's impossible to really imagine. I like your blog, the pics and how you write, reading your blog probably gave me a hint of how katrina and rita affect your life. Keep blogging, and I hope to read you in better times too.
